What is Sekolah Sri KDU®?
Sekolah Sri KDU® is a private learning institution that is specially designed by a group of experienced education professionals. It is modeled after the best smart schools in the world. All aspects of child development - psychological, intellectual and physical - are taken into consideration in developing the school curriculum and co-curricular programmes.
The school building is purpose-built to cater for the use of state-of-the-art technology in learning, teaching and management. Although emphasis is on technology, the finer traditions of an all-round education are not sacrificed. What kind of curriculum is implemented at Sekolah Sri KDU®?
Sekolah Sri KDU® adopts the Ministry of Education's national school curriculum, that is, the Kurikulum Bersepadu Sekolah Rendah (KBSR) and the Kurikulum Bersepadu Sekolah Menengah (KBSM). Our students sit for the government examinations, namely the Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR), the Peperiksaan Menengah Rendah (PMR) and the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).
We also offer additional subjects like NCC Computers Pioneer Programme, Structured Performing Arts and Mandarin to equip our students with additional skills to better prepare them for the future. Our teachers are constantly being trained on the most effective pedagogy (teaching and learning methodology). Our panel of hand-picked professional advisors will keep our management team informed of the latest developments in education.
Are there any differences between Sekolah Sri KDU® and Government Smart Schools?
Yes, there are a few differences between Sekolah Sri KDU® and Government Smart Schools. Our class size is smaller, 24 to 28 per class instead of 35 and also the level of technology is much higher. Our classrooms are also fully air-conditioned.
The school has ample facilities such as a multi-purpose hall, libraries, science, language, living skills laboratories, swimming pool and other sports facilities. Being a private institution, Sekolah Sri KDU® is sensitive and responsive to the educational needs of our children. Sekolah Sri KDU® is committed to providing the highest possible quality education to our students in the most conducive learning environment.
What is the difference between Sekolah Sri KDU® and other private schools?
Sekolah Sri KDU® a purpose-built Smart School, not a converted or remodeled one. Sekolah Sri KDU® optimizes the use of technology in their state-of-the-art facilities and classrooms.

How is the teaching and learning process different from that of regular schools?
Learning is the key to the Smart School Concept. Learning will be self-accessed, self-paced, and self-directed. A variety of teaching-learning strategies shall be used. Teaching will be done in such a way to help students achieve smart learning.

Are your teachers qualified?
All Sekolah Sri KDU® teachers are qualified and have met the school's minimum requirement to teach. As a pre-requisite, teachers at Sekolah Sri KDU® undergo 120 hours of pre-service training in addition to 80 - 100 hours of annual retraining at the end of each year where teachers are updated on the latest developments in teaching, smart school methodologies and learning. An in-house full-time teacher trainer provides continuous support to teachers and encourages creative teaching methodologies to make learning interesting and motivating.
How many teachers do you have? What is the teacher to student ratio?
We have approximately 200 teachers for both schools. The teacher to student ratio is 1:10
How much homework is given?
Homework is regulated at Sekolah Sri KDU® where teachers check with each other on the amount of homework given out on the same day. In addition, a homework schedule is given to all teachers to ensure that students are not overburdened.
Can students enroll at any time during the year?
Students can enroll at anytime of the year, but is subject to availability of seats and successful completion of admission tests and principal’s approval.
What security measures are taken to ensure the safety and well-being of students?
Student security and their well-being are always given top priority by the School Management and staff. The school has put in place extensive security features including the services of a Chief Security Officer and in-house full time security officers, complete with security checkpoints and CCTV cameras placed at strategic locations. Students are not allowed to leave the school during school hours without the necessary approvals and clearance.
Is Mandarin a compulsory subject?
It is compulsory for students from Primary 1 – Secondary 3 and is available at 3 levels - basic, intermediate and advanced.
Do you offer special classes for weaker students?
Yes we do. Sekolah Sri KDU® offers ‘Tutor Time’ which is remedial support. The regularity depends on how much the teacher needs to cover to help bring the child up to speed.
Do students sit for an entrance exam and what are the subjects?
Primary school applicants need to sit for a readiness test before they enroll with the school. The subjects in the readiness test are Bahasa Malaysia, English and Math.
Do you stream the students according to their intellectual level?
No. The students are not streamed, except at Secondary 4 level. We will allocate the classes for students according to gender and race proportions.
Do you accept any foreign students?
Yes. However, there are certain criteria to be fulfilled such as meeting the entry requirements, entrance exam and must have knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia.
Parents need to have a work permit here and they also need to apply for the student’s visa themselves.
Do you assist with visa application for foreign students?
Sekolah Sri KDU® will provide the child with a letter of offer / acceptance (after he/she passed the test). The parent / guardian has to apply for the student visa on their own.
