Principal's Message

Dear Sri KDU Primary School Families,

I warmly welcome all parents and children into our expanding family. My teachers and I look forward to forging lasting relationships with you to support our children. We have created a school environment which will be exciting and we eagerly look forward to a world of more possibilities in the coming years.

More than a quarter of a century ago, I started my career as an educator. I envisioned myself moulding and shaping future generations to be lifelong learners with inquiring minds. This hope is still very much intact as I helm this wonderful school which is an inspiration for a well-rounded education.

It is an honour to be a part of the school community as an administrator and a parent. Sri KDU is a place where students aim  to succeed at particularly high levels. Family involvement supports children to grow and bloom as together we work  to achieve the goal to serve and nurture all our students to be the best they can be.

The commitment to forming well-rounded individuals who are intellectually and spiritually competent, loving, compassionate, steadfast in doing justice and always open to progress has always been the hallmark of a Sri KDU education. Here, we believe in "Driving Dreams" as the future belongs to those who believe in the power of their dreams. This motto encapsulates the spirit of our school as we view each day as a day full of opportunities – to inspire, learn and achieve.

As a father, I understand how important it is for our children to have a positive school experience. And as the principal and the person accountable to the school, I know that good academic results is the expectation of many parents but we must realise that a school is not merely a building with classrooms with children. A school should not be just the place for reading, writing and arithmetic. It should be a place of interaction for many different people with one common focus – educating children.

Education should be more than literacy and grades. It should also be about learning to be successful in life. We must realise that we are the 'dream keepers' for our children. And together, we are the ones who are responsible for helping them dream big dreams and ensuring those dreams become  reality.

Nurturing well-rounded individuals is our core mission. My faith is confirmed as I observe the growth and development of our children, who are slowly but surely turning into people we desire them to be. For this, I would like to thank you for sharing your children. They are truly a gift to us.

Teachers, parents and students are partners in this journey that we have embarked upon. It is essential that all of us come to school every day happy and ready to give our best. A positive attitude enables us to become effective problem solvers.

In our mission to "Driving Dreams", we will look for ways and opportunities to inspire our children – for them to continue learning and achieving. As 'dream keepers', let's stay committed and work together to help our children dream as big as they can and to be successful in life.

Keep dreaming big, Sri KDUians!
