Enhancement Programmes

Camps

Viewed as an adventure and outdoor education programme, outdoor camps are organised for students from different year groups. These may be conducted within or out of Selangor to develop a sense of community and belonging and interpersonal skills as they partake in physical and recreational activities. Specifically designed to empower students with the necessary skills to bring out the leaders in them and to inspire and motivate them to be responsible and contributing members of the school and leaders of the future.

Cultural Exchange Programmes

Sri KDU Primary School recognises that culture is a very important life aspect and is the sum of attitudes, customs and beliefs that distinguishes one group of people from another. Culture is transmitted through language, material objects, ritual, institutions and art, from one generation to the next.

The school believes that the younger generation should be taught to learn and respect the culture and beliefs of others.

The importance of the programme is in creating opportunities for the children to immerse themselves to learn, engage and experience another culture via interactive cultural activities with selected foreign students.

The children will also learn to exchange Malaysian cultural practices, understanding, differences and similarities with their counterparts. Participants also get to attend school and experience life via visits and cultural activities in the country of visit.

Educational Field Trips

School excursions enhance students’ learning by providing opportunities for students to participate in curriculum-related activities outside the normal school routine. These school excursions aim to maximise students’ learning experiences and add an extra dimension to their learning.

All students go for one educational trip a year which involves pre-trip (research and discussion), during trip (task sheets) and post-trip (reports and presentations) activities. The trip is relevant to subject topics and includes visits to museums, farms, factories, etc.

Project-Based Learning

Adopting a project-learning approach in the classroom invigorates the learning environment, energising the curriculum with a real-world relevance and sparking students’ desire to explore, investigate and understand their world.

Value-Added Programmes

Workshops and talks on personal development, special skills and study aids are conducted each year for students of all levels. Awareness talks on various topics are also conducted for students.
