HEAD OF SWIMMING

Job description: 

  • Manage swim coaches; ensuring their levels of conduct, behaviour and attitude are in line with expectations.
  • Manage the delivery of the swim programme in entirety including: planning, delivery, assessment, reporting to parents, resources.
  • Ensure all swim coaches adhere to the teaching and learning expectations as laid out below.
  • Revise the swim programme as necessary to ensure standards remain high.
  • Be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children to participate in swimming.
  • Ensure that children are not left unsupervised in the pool or changing area.
  • Organise, plan and deliver the annual swimming galas for SKIPS and SKISS (including all aspects eg risk assessments, resources, preparation of participants, organising programme for event)
  • Be available to attend and participate in extra-curricular events and competitions, including weekends on occasion, including the FOBISIA Games.
  • Be responsible and actively participate in the ECA programme; including organising participation in competitions.
  • Be responsible for the leadership and management of the SKIS Swim Team (All Key Stages) the hosting of inter school galas.
  • Ensure the individual performance of swimmers and the year group swim teams are tracked and analysed.
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management or related field.
  • Min 3 years experience in an international school.
  • Possess a Bronze Medallion from Life Saving Society Malaysia,  International Instructor / Lifesaver certification
  • Proven track record as Swim Coach
  • Excellent management and organisational skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work independently

LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Job description:

  • Providing support to subject teachers where applicable in ensuring identified students are catered for within lessons, eg. modifying resources to improve accessibility, providing prompt/reminder for the completion of work
  • To establish a supportive, caring and secure relationship with the identified student(s), promoting respect, self esteem and a positive, inclusive whole school ethos
  • Providing in class one to one support for identified learners
  • Proving one to one or small group interventions for identified students under the direct of the AHT- Inclusion
  • To develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical and emotional/behavioural/medical needs of the students and respond to them effectively
  • Helping develop programmes of learning activities and to adapt appropriate materials
  • To help, support and motivate the identified student(s), clarifying instructions, encouraging independent learning and behaviour and enabling learning targets and outcomes to be achieved
  • Assisting with marking and correcting work
  • Keep detailed records of all support, interventions and modifications made for identified students to enable effective review and analysis of their effectiveness
  • To keep records of student progress and attainment to help inform review meetings

INCLUSION AIDE

Job description: 

  • To assist teachers in supporting learning that enables all children to access the curriculum and learn to the best of their ability.
  • To work with and support an identified child with specified academic, physical and emotional/ behavioural/ medical needs on an individual basis.
  • To work within all school systems and adhere to all school policies.
  • To operate within the Code of Conduct outlined by the school and behave in a spirit which is expected of all staff.

Key responsibilities of the specific job include: 

  • Providing support to the teacher where applicable in ensuring identified students are catered for within lessons, eg. modifying resources to improve accessibility, providing prompt/reminder for the completion of work both in school and online.
  • To establish a supportive, caring and secure relationship with the identified student(s), promoting respect, self esteem and a positive, inclusive whole school ethos.
  • Providing in class one to one support for identified learners and one to one support during online learning for core subjects.
  • Proving one to one or small group interventions for identified students under the direction of the SKIPS or SKISS AENCO.
  • To develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical and emotional/behavioural/medical needs of the child and respond to them effectively.
  • To help, support and motivate the identified student(s), clarifying instructions, encouraging independent learning and behaviour and enabling learning targets and outcomes to be achieved both when in school physically and online.
  • Assisting with marking, feedback and correcting of student work both when in school physically and online.
  • Keep detailed records of all support, interventions and modifications made for identified students to enable effective review and analysis of their effectiveness.
  • To keep records of student progress and attainment to help inform review meetings.
  • Assist with school events, trips and activities generally but also to facilitate full inclusion of identified students with additional needs.
  • Attend and contribute towards meetings with parents (providing short verbal or written reports as required).

TEACHING ASSISTANT/ CLASSROOM ASSISTANT

Job description: 

  • Providing support to the class teacher where required, eg. working with children on an individual, class or small group basis
  • Giving extra help to children from ethnic minorities or those with special needs
  • Helping develop programmes of learning activities and to adapt appropriate materials
  • Motivating and encouraging pupils
  • Assisting with marking and correcting work
  • Attending meetings and reviews
  • Helping with school events, trips and activities

Sri KDU International Secondary School (SKISS)

TEACHER (COMMERCE/ BUSINESS/ ECONOMICS / ACCOUNTING)

Job description: 

  • To teach classes as designated
    • Preparing lessons thoroughly and keeping accurate and current records of work (including homework) set.
    • Correcting pupils' work promptly, thoroughly, carefully and in a positive way.
    • Keeping adequate records of pupils' progress and completing reports to parents within agreed time scales and according to departmental/school policy.
    • Using digital technology and tools to enhance and support learning and progress.
  • To keep teaching areas, facilities and resources in good order.
  • Promote a positive atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • To undertake some reasonable and specific responsibilities within the school as requested by the SLT.
  • To give other such assistance as the HOS might reasonably require from time to time.
  • To foster close, collaborative and cooperative contacts with colleagues, supporting the school’s coaching system.

Teaching & related duties:

  • Assist in the development of appropriate syllabi, resources, schemes of work, marking policies and teaching strategies in the subject area.
  • Contribute to the subject area’s Improvement Plan and its implementation.
  • Attend all appropriate meetings.
  • Plan and prepare courses and lessons in line with school policy on implementation of Assessment for Learning.

Job description: 

  • Implement the Mathematics programmes of the International Secondary School (British Curriculum).
  • Prepare lesson plans and curricular materials including planning and implementation of Assessment for Learning.
  • Teach Mathematics classes as designated.
  • Monitor the performance of students through Assessments and keep relevant records of progress.
  • Assist in implementing the co-curricular activities of the International School.

Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or a related discipline
  • At least 3 years and above of teaching experience in Mathematics in a British Curriculum School
  • Preferably with IBDP experience
  • IT literate
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
