Our extensive and engaging curriculum, led by a team of well-qualified and committed teaching staff, enables students to develop both the academic and the social/emotional aspects of learning.
Key Stage 3 (Year 7 – Year 9: Age 11-14)
At Key Stage Three (KS3), we encourage experimentation, students as facilitators of learning, exciting outcomes and everyday as an adventure. All the while, students are flexing their learning power muscles and exploring how they learn best. Students have access to a full daytime curriculum in addition to after-school clubs and activities. The students follow the United Kingdom National Curriculum from Year 7 to Year 9 which means all students study the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Mandarin or French, Music, Art, Design and Technology, Physical Education. All students also study Malay, Moral/Islamic Studies and have a PHSLE (Personal, Health, Social and Leadership Education) programme delivered through Form Tutors.
Key Stage 4 (Year 10 – Year 11: Age 14-16)
Students follow a two-year programme leading to Cambridge IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) in 10 subjects. All students take English and English Literature, Mathematics, Triple or Co-ordinated Science and four electives from a choice of 16 subjects. Students choose their subjects in Year 9 and are encouraged to choose one subject from each of the CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) groups of subjects in order to achieve the over-arching ICE (International Certificate of Education). Students can take some languages IGCSEs in Year 10 and some students can have their curriculum tailored to suit their needs, so they have fewer languages IGCSEs to take.
