Sri KDU Primary School - Head Prefect for 2021/22

Sri KDU Primary School is extremely pleased to introduce our Head Prefect for 2021/22, Kaylee Koh.

Kaylee joined the school in 2017 as a Primary 1 student and has worn many hats as she blossoms throughout her schooling days here. She is optimistic, highly responsible and well liked by teachers and friends.

Let us have a look at her speech as she accepts her new role in Sri KDU Primary School.

My name is Kaylee Koh and I have been accorded the greatest honour of leading the school as the Head Prefect for 2021/22.

My life in Sri KDU Primary School began exactly six (6) years ago when I stepped into Sri KDU Primary for the very first time in 2016 for my Readiness Test. I immediately fell in love with the school and prayed that I would be able to start my primary education at this school.

When I began Primary 1 in 2017, I was so excited and everyday was like a new adventure. My love for the school, the teachers and my friends were such that I did not want to miss a single day of school. This love culminated in me recording full attendances for the past four years, and it is continuing.

Moving from being the Class Monitor, a Prefect, the Head of Discipline and now to be given the greatest honour to give back to the school and lead the school as the Head Prefect is an honour which I will cherish for the rest of my life.

The year 2021 is full of challenges. The current Covid-19 pandemic has not improved, we have had to say goodbye to Mr Djohann, and the UPSR examinations have been abolished. Fortunately, every dark cloud has a silver lining and we have managed to physically go to school for a few months. We are also ecstatic to have Puan Shamsiah as our new Principal. I hope and pray that we can all go back to school in the near future.

In conclusion, I would like to thank Mr Djohann, Puan Shamsiah, Ms Willie and all my teachers for moulding, believing, and having faith in me and especially all the Discipline Teachers for entrusting me with this great honour. I also like to convey my deepest gratitude and love to my family and friends for all the support and encouragement they have given me.

All the previous Head Prefects have set such high standards in making the school a much better place and motivating us to constantly improve ourselves. They are role models in the school and my desire to emulate them have led me to become what I am today. I sincerely hope that, I too, can be a role-model for everyone.

Moving forward, being appointed the Head Prefect during these changing times is a challenge. However, I am blessed and fortunate that I have my good friends as my Deputy Head Prefects and a strong Prefects Committee to assist me. Together, we will strive to make the school a better place and a better environment for everyone. And I hope that, together as one, we can lead Sri KDU Primary School to greater heights.
